There’s been a lot of hype surrounding the ushering in of this new administration– to say the least. And I can understand why. I’ll be honest. I didn’t vote for Obama, and not because I’m against him. In fact, I think he’ll do a good job; and I truly pray and hope that he does. I didn’t vote for him because all my life I’ve never really cared a darn or felt involved one bit in politics or the general direction of this country. But now, as we’re all in awe and excitement of “believing”, “change”, and “hope”, I’m feelin’ it. Obama makes the government seem accessible. His, almost childlike, steps through the formalities of inauguration day made him come across so relatable. Even though, reality is he’s a politician and a millionaire, he still seems like a man of the people, struggling to fight for the ideals that we all want to stand for. As a young man, he makes me want to fight alongside, and I believe in his leadership to empower us to do that. It’s exciting that a lot of other people are believing in it to. I hope it lasts.
